At Kellihers, we’ve placed sustainability at the heart of our business. As a leading distributor of electrical products, solutions and services in Ireland, we play a driving role in the energy transition by promoting supplier innovation and facilitating our customers’ access to the most sustainable offerings on the market.
For the past few years, we require that all our suppliers comply with our Sustainable Supplier Charter, covering ethics, human rights, labor rights, climate action and legal compliance. We also work closely with suppliers to provide customers with advanced environmental data that helps them monitor their climate footprint.
In 2023, the Rexel Group launched a Sustainable Selection of best-in-class products to guide our customers toward the most sustainable solutions for their end customers.
We strive to champion sustainability and further accelerate the energy transition in collaboration with top suppliers servicing the electrical sector in Ireland.

Why do you have products other than the Sustainable Selection in your range?
We believe that our role as a distributor, at the interface between customers and
manufacturers, is crucial in solving today's challenges. In response to the urgency of
the situation and the ever-growing demand of our clients, we are accelerating our
action with the launch of this selection. While we select all our products with
expertise, those bearing the Sustainable Selection icon have fulfilled additional
demanding criteria concerning sustainability. We are at the beginning of a demanding and
ambitious ongoing approach which in due course will bring us to offer more and more
sustainable products. This will only be made possible by acting together and in
coordination with the whole value chain (end-users, customers, Rexel and suppliers).
Are the Sustainable Selection products more expensive?
The selection is based on sustainability criteria rather than price considerations.
Sustainable products can sometimes – but not always – be more expensive than similar
products, owing to different production methods, materials, or more costly technologies
involved. These products often provide long-term benefits such as energy savings,
durability, and reduced environmental impact, which means greater value and lower total
cost of ownership over their lifespan.
Why is eco-packaging not one of the criteria to be listed in the Sustainable Selection?
Rexel attaches great importance to setting clear rules for the most appropriate
packaging to reduce waste. The strategic initiative is being conducted in parallel with
suppliers with a view to reducing packaging to just what is needed for the product's
purpose.
