Galway & Cork Buildings Go Solar – Whatever the building, whatever the requirement, we are here to service your energy needs.

The Energy Solutions division of Kellihers Electrical specified and designed a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) installation at Galway Fire Station and for the Capitol building in Cork.

Due to shading issues, the system was installed in an East plus West configuration. The installation used 20 panels facing east and 20 facing west. 2no. DC to AC inverters were supplied – one for east and one for west.

Both inverters have WiFi cards and antennae, and the system will be remotely monitored and recorded. Panels were mounted to the roof using a ballasted system, no part of the roof was fixed to or penetrated.

The panels used were 275w monocrystalline panels, and they were mounted on a ValkPro+ East West system from Van der Valk.

Capitol Building Cork

Another Solar PV installation using the ValkPro+ East West system is on the redevelopment of the Capitol building in Cork.

In phase one of this installation 4.5kW of Solar PV panels were fitted onto the flat roof of the old cinema.
