BYD solar and battery solutions are now available from 24 stores nationwide
Rexel Ireland has been appointed BYD’s distribution partner for Ireland. The BYD ‘HVE’ range of solar and battery products for homes and businesses are available from Rexel stores now, and eligible for SEAI Solar PV grants of up to €1,800.
BYD is the world’s largest manufacturer of electric vehicles, however, it was founded in 1994 as a battery company and is the market leader in advanced battery technology. It is this battery know-how which it now brings to Irish homes in the form of solar photovoltaic controllers and battery energy storage modules. These products allow homeowners to store their own solar energy and charge their home battery from cheaper night rate electricity, for use during the day.
Rexel Ireland is an electrical hardware distribution business, with 23 stores trading as Kellihers Electrical and CT Electric, primarily servicing trade installers. Our renewable energy division, Rexel Energy Solutions, was established in 2015. The business is headquartered at their 100,000 square foot national distribution centre in Dublin.
The new BYD ‘HVE’ system combines a Power-Box and Battery-Box, it is compatible with all Irish homes, and it can also provide backup power during grid outages. HVE is BYD’s first integrated home energy system, and their ultra slim battery is one of the thinnest residential products in the world, at only 120mm wide.

BYD product training, webinars and a roadshow are all planned in the coming months.
These BYD solutions are eligible for the SEAI grant of up to €1,800 and are approved for integration with the ESB Networks supply grid.
